Teeth can become stained or darkened over a period of time due to a number of factors such as age, smoking, or drinking tea and red wine. If you are brushing and flossing twice a day, but still feel that your smile is not as bright as you would like, then our professional teeth whitening treatment may be of an interest to you.
At Mint Dental Care, we only use dental products that are supported by extensive clinical studies and that we would be happy to have in our own mouths. For this reason, we are proud to provide our patients with a choice between the tried and tested Philips Zoom! In-Surgery Power Whitening and Opalescence® Take Home Teeth Whitening.
Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed, the #1 patient-requested whitening brand in the USA, is clinically proven to whiten teeth up to eight shades in 45 minutes. This is an Advanced Whitening system that is undertaken in surgery with our highly experienced dentists, Dr Krzysztof Kurczewski and Dr Alicja Kurczewska - so you can relax in the knowledge that your smile is in safe, caring and highly capable hands.
The first step of your journey to a new smile at Mint Dental Care is a Consultation to discuss your requirements and your smile. This is then followed by an Oral Health Asssessment and Scale and Polish (if required). At this point, we will advise you whether you are suitable for whitening treatment or not - depending on the health of your gums and teeth. If you are suitable for whitening treatment, then we will then proceed to prepare your teeth and gums ready for your high intensity whitening treatment via our Philips Zoom! WhiteSpeed lamp. The procedure will take approximately one hour to complete. You can enjoy watching a film or your favourite TV program, or simply relax listening to music whilst your teeth are being whitened.
Once treatment is complete, you will be provided with Take-Home Trays and specially formulated Zoom! Whitening Gel to take away with you. We will show you how to use, and wear, your trays overnight to further enhance the whiteness of your new smile.
Your first step when getting your teeth whitened is an initial consultation with your dentist – to ensure you are dentally fit for whitening treatment before we begin. If so, a dental impression is then taken and custom trays made from this impression and so that your new trays fit your teeth exactly. For optimum results, this will ensure that you get a very even and thorough coverage of gel on your teeth whilst wearing your trays. Finally, we will show you how to use your new whitening trays and gels at home as well as provide you with 'instructions for use and aftercare' to take away. As a guideline, we advise that it usually takes up to 7 to 10 days to see any noticeable effects of treatment and the level of whiteness you achieve will depend on your diet and the porosity of your teeth.
